Newly Appointed Managers
New managers face distinct challenges: “On Friday you’re promoted, and on Monday you’re a new manager!” The transition from individual contributor to new manager often happens quickly and may not include training or additional support. Some new managers are moving from peer to manager, which brings its own challenges. Existing managers must continually develop core skills in order to achieve business goals, but may not be provided with training opportunities. This course covers what every new manager needs to know to and what existing managers can learn as a means of adding to their skills set. This interactive program includes lively discussion, skill-building exercises, and a comprehensive resource handbook designed for ongoing support. The goal is for participants to walk away with increased confidence, knowledge, and skills to face the realities of managing in today’s environment.
