If project and program management are disciplines for doing the work right, portfolio management is the discipline for doing the right work. Portfolio managers oversee a collection of projects, programs, and other activities that are grouped together to meet strategic business objectives. The practice of portfolio management is integral to the implementation of an organization’s overall strategic plan.
The Standard for Portfolio Management offers the most up-to-date information on accepted practices in portfolio management and features the inclusion of three new Knowledge Areas: Portfolio Strategic Management, Portfolio Performance Management, and Portfolio Communication Management.
This highly interactive course will provide you with the knowledge you will need to pass the PfMP® exam and demonstrate your competence in both situational and scenario-based questions that are included in the exam.
You must pass a sequence of evaluations to obtain the PfMP credential. This process takes approximately four weeks to complete. The initial evaluation occurs through an extensive application review during which a panel of portfolio managers will assess your professional experience based on the responses to the Portfolio Management Experience Summaries provided on the application.
The next step occurs with the multiple-choice examination in which you will be called upon to demonstrate your competence in both situational and scenario-based questions.
