Operational Excellence Transformation at Fortune 500 Pharmacy Company Yields $300M Annually in Benefits
Situational Overview
As a board member, the CEO of a Fortune 500 company had seen the financial and cultural benefits of an operational excellence transformation, but none of the senior staff at his current organization had experience with operational excellence or similar programs. We were brought in to partner with the leadership team to develop, design, and implement the program.
Solution
Although the executive team was committed to implementing an operational excellence program, it was important to help them assess their current state and prepare for the program’s deployment. Key elements included: developing a clear and documented overview of the organizational culture, core processes, key drivers of waste and customer dissatisfaction, as well as drafting a change management plan with the communications to support it. Projects were developed in alignment with organizational goals, and we worked in tandem with the VP of Quality and of HR to identify key roles and top candidate profiles. Resources and infrastructure were tailored to the client to ensure long-term success, as well as enablement for the program to run independently of third-party support.
