Duke University and Corporate Education Group Expand Alliance to Deliver Corporate Training Certificate Programs
Individuals and organizations to receive professional development training backed by one of the nation’s most prestigious universities
CHELMSFORD, Mass. — April 30, 2013 — Duke University and Corporate Education Group (CEG), a premier provider of corporate training and consulting services, are teaming up to help busy professionals sharpen critical business skills and management expertise with corporate training certificate programs. Through this strategic alliance, Duke University Management Training and CEG offer training in project management, business analysis, management and leadership, and business process management to individuals and organizations worldwide.
"Duke’s strategic alliance with Corporate Education Group enables us to reach beyond our traditional community and connect with more professionals seeking targeted business skills courses," said Associate Dean of Duke University Continuing Studies Dr. Paula Gilbert. "We selected CEG as our corporate training partner due to its position as a reputable and consistent industry leader for 25 years and for its combination of high-quality courseware and seasoned trainers and consultants. Pairing Duke’s academic excellence with CEG’s training expertise creates an unmatched solution we are proud to support."
According to the Training Industry Report issued annually by Training magazine, U.S. corporations and organizations spent more than $7.4 billion on external training vendors and consultants in 2012. Research conducted by Chief Learning Officer (CLO) magazine in November 2012, indicates almost 55 percent of CLOs expect their budgets to increase in 2013. The CEG/Duke University Management Training Certificate Programs provide a unique option to learning and development decision makers looking to close skills gaps and develop existing talent.
Green Mountain Coffee Roasters, Inc. (GMCR), a CEG client for more than five years, already has integrated the new joint certificate programs into its training curriculum. "The partnership between CEG and Duke University for the Business Analysis Certificate Program was very attractive to our employees," said Missy Parks, senior manager, IST enterprise technology learning for GMCR. "Duke’s academic excellence is recognized globally, and testing after each course elevates the corporate training programs offered by CEG. We also see immediate application of skills among the employees who participate in the professional development curriculum offered through CEG and Duke University."
"By partnering with Duke University, we are offering new and existing CEG clients a way to build their professional reputation with training approved and recognized by one of the world’s leading academic institutions," said John Bonanno, president, Corporate Education Group. "Organizations realize that investments in talent development create a competitive advantage, and as a result are seeking high-impact corporate training that aligns with their company’s business objectives. The CEG/Duke University Management Training Certificate Programs enable companies to tailor corporate training to optimize organizational performance."
